First year of the redesigned Type 2.  A better than average AU, with obvious luster and which would probably certify AU-53 or 55.  Just a touch of weakness on the Reverse rim, typical of the date.  Without the typical heavy clashes seen on this issue - a bit of a 'sleeper' as such. This appears to be a minor repunched date, with signs below the flag of the “1” and on the “4” (the little spur extending above the “4” as well as to the left of the serif), however I could not find a listing in Cherrypickers or NGC Variety Plus. This is definitely not FS-301, so probably unlisted. Not a terrible surprise as I have found others in this series, which has relatively few better grade specimens to look for varieties on. 1215-05
