A sharp AU/Unc “slider”, that saw an absolute minimum of actual use in commerce before being put aside. This is the middle date of the so-called “Philippines” Barber coinage, so could well have been carried back from the archipelago by a period serviceman when “new”. The surfaces suggest that it may have originally shown some darker toning, which was dipped off. This shows no impairment to the luster from anything that might have been done to it and has bold luster and good eye appeal.
