Scarce with CAC approval: 171 at PCGS in the grade, 69 NGC, versus only 6 stickered at CAC plus one certified by CACG (May, 2025).  Per their policy this is guaranteed to cross to the new CACG holder at the same grade if submitted.  Original color and strong “satiny” luster, no major or distracting marks, just some random light nicks and scuffs.  The assigned grade limited a point due to some strike issues common to the Type, particularly along the right edge of the coin.  This does not appear to be due to the Mint turning down the striking pressure in order to save the Reverse die, which shows a significant die crack.  My guess rather is that the planchet may have been slightly thin on that side, as the “5” is quite bold and the denticles are complete and full.  Worth a reasonable premium I think for the original nature of the coin.
