Uncirculated, certified by PCGS as a 'Details' coin.  Frankly, in my personal opinion, they were smoking California wacky weed. There are some extremely wispy 'hairlines' here and there in the Obverse fields, and you have to look for them.  This shows booming luster, and color that appears 100% original and typical of an period coin that was set aside at random and stored in a non-numismatic fashion.  Direct out of of California's Gold Rush country, my guess is that this was mixed into a lot of loose coinage owned by a non-collector, picking up whatever bothered PCGS in the process over the last Century.  There are some random scuffs and marks typical of this type of storage, and the surfaces are in the range of what will typically certify MS-61/62.  This is certainly nicer and more 'original' looking than what you will normally find in MS-60 to low end MS-62 holders, which are typically dipped/processed and questionable as even being 'Unc'.  Oddly enough, this is NOT the typical Repunched Mintmark variety you tend to see for the date. Nor was I able to see any of the three listed Misplaced Date varieties, if anyone wanted to know. Regardless, I feel an attractive example to represent the Type, offered at an equivalent value below MS-60.  Since you know its real, just crack it out and put it into an album.  I am offering it in the current enclosure rather than like typical commercial dealers who would crack it out, and sell it raw as a 'Choice Unc'.  One image from PCGS CoinFacts - actual color is closer to the images taken by myself.  Please note that due to higher value, depending upon delivery address this may require Registered Mail shipping, which is slower delivery time.
